Dr. Roger Covin, C.Psych.
He received his B.A. in psychology from the University College of Cape Breton and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from The University of Western Ontario.
He has many years experience providing Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), but also integrates other treatment options as well, including mindfulness meditation, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and schema therapy.
In terms of psychological examinations, Dr. Covin is able to conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for the purposes of establishing a diagnosis and describing overall mental health.
Dr. Covin provides services to adolescents (age 15 years and older) and adults for a range of problems including:
Depression, Anxiety, Stress, Burnout, Chronic Pain, Self-Esteem, Identity Exploration and Development, Trauma (ex: PTSD in soldiers, police officers, emergency personnel), and Existential issues (ex: death anxiety; path and meaning in life).
Dr. Covin is the author of The Need to be Liked (2011).
